So begins my final week as a stay at home mom. It has been a great summer. Even the tired and stressed out days have been worth it. Even on days when she just wouldnt nap, it's been worth it. I have loved going on walks around the neighbordhood with her. I love how relaxed and laid back she is anytime she's in her stroller. I loved taking her up to the wading pool those few times. I loved going swimming with her and seeing her enjoy the water. I loved wasting time at Target or at the mall. I loved seeing how happy she was to see me every time she woke up from a nap. I loved experiencing all of her firsts. I loved the freedom to go visit with family all the time because I didn't have to deal with planning around my work schedule. I loved getting to know her and her cues. I am so glad that I got to spend the first 6 months of her life right by her side. I only hope that I can do the same for our next child because I truly believe that this experience has made me a better mother. I know I used all past tense, and that is wrong of me. While yes, I loved seeing her wake up, I know I'll get to see her wake up every day, and I'll still love that experience (although if she wakes up anything like you, I wont be getting many early morning smiles when I wake her up for school before she's ready!) She really is the light of my life and I know she's the light of yours. We couldnt have asked for a better daughter. She made us parents, and for that I will always be grateful. I know that I'll still have nights and weekends (and all school holidays) with her, but it wont be the same. I am going to miss her so much. Words cant explain just how in love with her I have become in these past 6 months (well, 15 if you count the 9 months I loved her before I even met her...) I really enjoyed the other morning when all three of us were able to play in bed and just enjoy the morning time as a family. That was a very special moment to me. I love when the three of us are able to spend time together without having to worry about where we are going next. It's those times that we make such great memories. Memories that will last a lifetime... memories that will enable me to get through the next 9 months before summer vacation rolls around again!!
I love you with all of my heart.
