12 month stats

Alexis had her 12 month apt and everything looks great.

She's 20lbs (35th percentile) and 30 inches (75th percentile acording the nurse, 95th according to pedi... hmmm)

I asked about the drop in weight percentile and pedi assured me that's ok and normal because now that she's walking, she's working off her baby fat.

Pedi was glad we got her transitioned to milk successfully. The apt was on a Friday and I mentioned that she hadnt used a bottle since Tuesday, pedi said "Good. Dont offer it to her anymore since she was able to make the transition now."

The party set up

Here is the set up for Alexis' small family party (just us, our parents, and our sisters). This was on her actual birthday.

Brithday gifts

My mom recovered my rocking chair from when I was litte and Jim's parents got her a wagon. I cant wait for this summer!!

 

 

 

 

Eatting cake

Alexis did not want to eat the actual cake. She was only interested in picking the green lettering off. That's all that she wanted to eat. Odd kid. :)

1st year collage

My poor sick baby

My poor sick baby caught something on Sunday. She came down with a fever of 102.68!! Sunday night she slept in bed with me from 11p-5:30am. She kept waking up coughing. We spent all day Monday snuggling on the couch and finally, at noon, she sat up and laughed and then was playful for the rest of the night. Today she's been slightly better. She still has a very runny, snotty nose and a pretty wicked cough and is very whiny - but the fever is gone. I am glad I got a snow day today so I got to spend the extra day with her. Another reason I was happy for the snow day (besides the obvious reason of a free day off work) is because tomorrow is her birthday and I had a lot to do to get ready for our parents and sisters. I got her cake baked (after one very unsuccessful attempt) and dinner made and ready to go in the fridge. Tomorrow all I have to do is frost the cakes (her smash cake and the desert cake) and pick up some flowers and balloons for the table.

So, I filled the cake pan almost all the way up. Duh - it boiled over and made a mess of my oven. The top was done, the insides, not so much. I took it out of the oven, and it fell, leaving a giant hole. If you look in the hole, you can see that the inside is still wet and undone. Oh well, lesson learned :)

 

 

 

 

Thanks for snuggling with me!

Alexis spent Saturday night at my parents house and we picked her up today and went to visist with Jim's grandma and family. We drove around for an hour between my parents and his grandma's so that Alexis could take a nap. When we got to his grandma's she was just waking up from her nap. Any time she wakes up from a nap at a new place, she's clingy for a little bit while she gets her barrings. Today, she sat on my lap and snuggled for about 15 minutes. It was great. She just sat there, holding my hand, chilling with me. She wasn't wiggling around trying to stand up on my lap, trying to get my necklace, trying to get something off a table near me, not trying to get down and up again... just sat. Just snuggled with me. It was a great treat because I don't get that all the time. It was especially great since I hadn't seen her since the day before.

Daycare Pics

The woman who watches Alexis every day does photography as a hobby and will take pics of the babies and gives them to us. I love the pics of the 3 babies! The little boy on the left is my coworkers son. Alexis (in the middle) is the oldest but the smallest. In the very first pic, someone was in the background blowing kisses trying to get the kids to smile and Alexis was trying to blow kisses back!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kitchen fun

I've been bringing Alexis in to the kitchen to play while I cook or do dishes, and she has found a new way to occupy herself. I had the travel coffee mugs on this little shelf and she pulls them all off the shelf. This day she decided to put them in the laundry basket... why? Not sure! Oh, and the toaster is going to get a new home now that this is "her shelf" :)
