The lovely mess

Two days a week Jim is home with Alexis. Two days a week I come home to a living room that looks like a tornado hit. Two days a week I come home to stories of all the fun things they did that day. Two days a week I get text messages with pictures of something fun they are doing, like playing soccer at the rec center, playing in the giant tree at the rec center, taking the wagon to the park, etc. This day, I came home to a fort. I walked in the door and Alexis was peeking out from the fort. It was the cutest thing in the world. Notice all the diapers and toys she systematically dumped around the room. She's a destroyer. Daddy invited me into the fort and Lexi did NOT like that! She got very jealous seeing mommy and daddy in the fort together and she very quickly ran over and put herself in my lap as if to show daddy who is mommy's #1.

My messy eater...

I normally spoon feed Alexis anything that requires a spoon. But, eventually she will need to learn to use a spoon on her own. So we decided to try using a Little Dipper to help her figure out the concept of dipping and eatting. She tried it once or twice, liked it, and then quickly realized that it was quicker to just scoop the applesauce into her mouth using her hands. It's a good thing I got her undressed first!!

The waggon and the park

Alexis got a waggon for her bithday. It was finally nice enough to take it for a walk to the playground. She LOVED it.

Uncle Justin and Daddy were using the teeter totter to see who was fatter. Real mature huh? :)

They are like big kids. They thought this was the coolest thing ever.

Getting ready to go down the slide with daddy.

"Wheeee"

Heading home. She is still loving the waggon!

Can you find the Easter eggs?

Alexis has had so much fun with her Easter basket and eggs that I haven't put them away yet. Alexis has decided to hide all of the eggs. One by one she put the eggs down the ball shute in her activity table until all of them were "hidden." When daddy came home, we challenged him to find the eggs. We told him that she hid them all in one spot. It took him a bit to find them, but he did.

Tired from making a mess

That cute pink basket is where I keep diapers in the living room. I line them up all neat and orderly and they fit perfectly in there. Every day, Alexis sees the cute pink basket filled with diapers and she proceeds to throw, literally, each one out of the basket until it is empty. Then she plays with the basket.

Who dressed you today?

I put Alexis in a cute purple longsleeved onesie today. Jim took her to his grandma's and had some gifts for her, including some clothes. For whatever reason, Jim changed her out of the clothes I put her in and put on one of the shirts his grandma had bought her. I NEVER let Alexis wear a shirt without a onesie. She likes to lift her shirt and I hate seeing her bare belly and I absolutely hate seeing her diaper hanging out of her pants (just as much as I hate when my underwear accidentially hang out of my droopy pants... ug...) So I came home from work and discovered Alexis in her new outfit. Still in her purple socks, now with a blue shirt on. I took her to the park, but put a jacket on her and refused to unzip it or take it off, even though it was nice enough out that she didnt NEED the jacket. Is it bad that I was embarrassed of how my husband dressed her?

She was playing around and found her diaper bag with an applesauce in it... and the applesauce and laundry basket became her toy for the day. Odd kid, I know.

"Where is your belly, Alexis?"

Alexis' pet balloons

Alexis got two mylar baloons for her bithday and she loved playing with them, dragging them around. Then, they deflated. At my sister's wedding shower, there were baloons decorating the cake table, the gift table, and the table my sister sat at (which was also our table). Alexis kept pointing at them and begging for them. But of course they were the decorations so we couldnt give them to her. But we did get to take some home with us. As soon as we got home, Alexis began dragging them around the house. We jokingly talked about her "walking" her baloons, as if they were puppies. We did end up taking off the latex baloons, but the mylar baloons are still in the living room as part of her "toy box."

Bath/shower fun

Alexis loves bath time. She also enjoys showers. Jim and I will sometimes bring her into the shower with us and the first thing she does is put her face in the spray to get a drink. It's the funniest, cutest thing ever. I needed to get a shower pic of Alexis for a card I am making for my sisters wedding shower so for this one time only, she was allowed to stand up in the shower all by herself. She was in heaven. But as soon as the photo shoot was over, she was forced to return to a seated position.

Doors, her new toy

Alexis loves opening and closing doors. Any time she finds a door she can close, she plays with it!! And she expecially loves the back door. It it a full length window for her to look out of. And the screen is a full length screen so there are no obstructions to her view. (Even though it looks like she could walk right outside and down the porch steps, there IS in fact a screen behind her keeping her inside. Its a rollaway screen so there isnt a frame around it, which is why you cant see it)
